Voting? I don't know...

Hello everyone!

The topic today is a bit controversial. Nowadays, I have seen a lot of publicity, they’re not TV’s publicity but political. That type, you know, when you’re walking and on/with every step you make there are big cartels with pictures of the politician they want you to vote to (which, by the way, doesn’t let you see anything), and also pamphlets that are all spread over on the pavement. Well, that’s not the point here. This is all related to one thing, voting.

Last year, when I was 17, I thought that I would like to wait until I grow up a little more to register myself to be able to vote, but this year I released that “automatic register and voluntary vote” law has been passed. So basically, I’m registered to vote.

Current electoral campaigns are bothersome, as I said before, when this time comes, wherever you see is full of political publicity, it’s like they try to force ourselves to vote for them just because their face is in everywhere. I dislike them very much. Because with that money they spend in this useless things that are not anything else than a pain in the neck, they could make a lot of productive things. People don’t need pictures to believe and vote for them, people need to see actions for community, and continuing seeing this actions even after they lose the elections, or they win it, or they end their period.

Just look at this!! D8<

I know, what I said is like I dislike political publicity as much as politicians, it’s true. Well, it’s not true, ‘cause I know there’re, somewhere, people who are politician because it’s a vocation. Those people have good ideals for the country they live in (it includes the people, of course), they think “With this job I can help to make a better country without die of hunger” and not “I can gain a lot money with this”. But they seem not to be many. And currently, people who have the power, the ones who govern us are not the type of politician that I like.

Oh… I’ve considered being a politician so many times… hahaha. But it’s so sad to think I will be surround by people only interest in money that I forget the idea immediately. Yeeees, I told it before, there are good politicians somewhere… but but but… it’s so difficult not to make generalizations… well, but I haven’t rule out the idea at all, maybe in the future, when I am a psychologist and I want to make a new step on my way to help people mayyybe… argh It’s so complicated!! I have to think about it a bit more.

I don’t know if I want to vote, I still feel immature to do it and disappointed with the system, it’s an important decision and I don’t want to do it just because I have. I want to do it. I know, if I’m not going to vote, I don’t have the right to complain… it’s difficult too.

That all today, what do you think? Will you vote this year?

  1. I agree with you, but I haven't a romantical conception of the politicians. I think that nowadays, the chilean politicians are inept people.
